Farmlands, shorelines, lakes and a scenic river provide sustenance for the birds, and an experience for the birder. The Skagit and Stillaguamish Watersheds host one of the largest concentrations of Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states. Wintering eagles are in the Stillaguamish valley, and the swans and Snow Geese are resting and feeding in farmlands on their way north.

The Great Outdoors offers abundance in the Stilly Valley. Arlington is the gateway to the Mountain Loop Highway. Hunters, fishermen, bird-watchers, day hikers, and horse-riders all find something for themselves.

The Stilly Valley is blessed with a number of lakes, including Lake Howard in the Seven Lakes area near Warm Beach, seen here on a foggy October morning. These lakes are open year round for boating, all with public access. Some lakes are open year round for fishing, as well.
